el milagro tortilla chips
H and I were yapping about tortillas the other day and she mentioned El Milagro brand, made here in Chicago. And then she gave me a bag of El Milagro tortilla chips. Holy mackerel -- these are the best tortilla chips I have ever had. Really salty, really crispy and crunchy, not too thick, but with a strong, hearty corn flavor. Yum yum. I am sure I am getting fatter and fatter this week because I am pretty much eating these things at least 2 meals per day: with zucchini-bean-cheese saute, with chili, with green zebra/lime/cilantro salsa, and once as a quickie breakfast. Not sure where H got hers, but saw them in Cub Foods on Elston last night, and I'd imagine they are available across the city -- keep your eyes peeled for 'em.
Posted by foodnerd at September 12, 2005 09:48 PMcame across your site looking up more info about El Milagro chips, I guess they are a national brand since I live in Texas, and it's made in Austin. That's a good thing if they have factories across the country, mean fresher chips. If you like hot salsa you should try another texas brand salsa called: Tejano Salsa, you need to like heat though. Good eating!

Well, I tried to open it. They put so much friggin glue on the top of the bad I had to get the scissors out. I probably wouldn't complain, but the price increase has to be questioned. They don't have a web site, so I only hope they read this post.

Right now I'm staying with family in Poughkeepsie NY- anybody know where we can buy these chips here? Yum yum El Milagro-- as Tony the Tiger would say: "son rrrrrrricos!" Please check out their corn tortillas too. Don't even bother getting any other brand. yum, this is making me hungry!

I used to find them at several of our local stores (Meijer, Horrocks Fruit Market), but they seem to be in short supply. Always out of stock. Must be everyone else loves them too!

These chips rock! They are the best I've ever bought in a bag at the store. They carry them at the local Super Target in Wichita, KS.

The tortillas here suck. Your is the bomb..I miss them so much..all i need is the phone # so i can order me some and be happy...thank u
